The Town of Greenburgh initiated a planning and public participation process to develop a Comprehensive Plan, which will provide a framework to guide long-range policy decision-making affecting growth and development in the Town. Through a combination of technical analyses and community input, the Plan will identify goals, objectives and strategies to address a variety of issues, including economic development, housing, community character, land uses, natural and historical resources, community facilities and services, infrastructure and transportation.
Below is a graphic demonstrating specific Town goals linked to some of the issues described in the Comprehensive Plan:
Overall, the Comprehensive Planning process sought to:
- Encourage a clear, fair and efficient development approval process.
- Continue to encourage community and stakeholder collaboration in planning and decision making.
- Work with our planning partners (neighboring communities, Westchester County, NYMTC, etc.).
The Greenburgh Comprehensive Planning process involved the collaboration of Town Board and Staff Members, a Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee and Town residents and businesses.
